Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticised foreign celebrities' remarks on the ongoing protests by farmers. He said India has seen increased FDI, but there is a new FDI- Foreign Destructive Ideology, that has arisen and there is a need to defend India against it.
The comments from PM Modi came amidst outrage from international celebrities who have spoken out in support of farmers. It all started when pop star Rihanna posted an article about internet suspension in Delhi, near protest sites for farmers. In his address to the Rajya Sabha, PM Modi also said that India must be secured from 'Andolan Jeevis' who are present in any agitation.
