Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun has been selected for the India U-19 four-day game squad, which will be travelling to Sri Lanka. The Indian team is scheduled to play two four-day games and five ODIs from 11 July to 11 August.
As Arjun embarks on a new journey, here’s a look at him bowling to Virat Kohli and co at the Wankhede Stadium ahead of their first ODI against New Zealand in Mumbai in October 2017.
Watched by India head coach Ravi Shastri and bowling coach Bharat Arun, 18-year-old Arjun bowled at the nets as soon as the team's training session, ahead of the three-match rubber, began at around 4:15 pm.
Arjun – a budding left-handed seamer – bowled first to left-handed Shikhar Dhawan and then to Kohli. He also bowled to Ajinkya Rahane and middle order batsman Kedar Jadhav among others.
In 2017, Arjun was also seen bowling at the nets to the women's team at Lord’s before their ICC World Cup final against England.
