Women's soccer events gets underway at London Olympics

On the first day of the event - 25 June 2012 - hosts Great Britain beat New Zealand 1-0; world champions Japan defeated Canada 2-1; United States overcame France 4-2; Brazil humbled Cameroon 5-0; Sweden thumped South Africa 4-1 and North Korea were 2-0 winners over Colombia.
