The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas tweeted on Friday that it is considering options to introduce home delivery of petrol and diesel.

The move will reduce the frequent long wait and snaking queues at fuel stations.

About 3.5 crore people come to fuel stations every day, with transactions amounting to over Rs 2,500 crore annually, the Ministry tweeted.
It also pointed out that cashless transactions have shot up to Rs 400 crore per day from Rs 150 crore daily.
The Ministry also said it has adopted a "three-pronged approach" to promote digital payments: through rapid expansion of the payment infrastructure at fuel stations, conducting awareness campaigns & incentivising consumers.
