People flock to Barsana to play traditional 'Lathmar Holi'

With the celebrations of Holi in full swing, people from across the country have thronged Barsana town in Uttar Pradesh to play the traditional 'Lathmar Holi'. Giving details, a local resident said 'Lathmar Holi' is a celebration of Hindu Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha's epic love story. "In the festival, men folk try to smear colour on new clothes worn by women who traditionally protect themselves with lathis. The festival of colours, Holi is celebrated one day after the last full moon in the month of Phalguna, which usually takes place in March. This year, the festival will be celebrated on March 13.
