Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was released from detention that began after the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5th 2019.
After her release, People's Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti took to social media platform Twitter and posted an audio message with a symbolic black screen saying, "I’ve been released after more than a year. During this time, I’ve always thought about the Centre’s cruel decision of abrogating article 370. The government will have to give back the special status and take steps to release those who are languishing in jails in several parts of the country. I know it won’t be easy, but we all have to fight back."
On September 29, the Supreme Court had pulled the administration and said that PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti's detention could not continue forever.
