PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti hits out at J&K govt over hoisting Tricolour on buildings, offices

Jammu and Kashmir: Days after J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha directed district officers of the Union Territory (UT) to ensure that the Indian national flag is hoisted on all government buildings and establishments under their jurisdiction, Mehbooba Mufti called it “insecurity” of the administration. In 2020, PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti had also made a controversial statement saying she won't hoist the Indian tricolour unless the flag of Jammu & Kashmir is allowed. Mehbooba Mufti gave this statement after coming out of detention in October last year. During these past few weeks, Mufti has been at loggerheads with the Centre over summons by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
