PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti expresses her opinion on DDC voting process; calls it democracy's victory

The openness of the latest 2020 DDC poll. To express her thoughts on the DDC polling, Mufti took to Twitter. She wrote:' A peaceful and fair election is a triumph for democracy. But considering the odds against which the Gupkar Alliance fought the election, the situation on the ground was far from ideal. The PAGD won the largest number of seats in Jammu and Kashmir. The DDC polls have started to post a bitter tussle, however.

She also announced that she would not contest any election until the repeal of Article 370 and the removal of Jammu and Kashmir's special status had been reversed. Ms Mufti also defended the decision of her father, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, to partner with the BJP in 2014, an alliance that collapsed earlier, causing the PDP to lose control.

She noted that the constitution was being replaced by the BJP agenda throughout the country, not just in Jammu and Kashmir.
