Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi Has Already Beaten Prabhas’ Baahubali 2! Here’s How

Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi is slated for a January 10, 2018 release

Pawan Kalyan revealed the first look of his next film, Agnyaathavaasi just a few days back and had his fans in frenzy. In the first look of the thriller, where the actor plays a prince in exile, the power star was seen sporting an invincible attitude. And it looks like, that’s the attitude that his film is going to follow at the box office as well. Set to hit screens on Sankranthi/Pongal 2018, the film has already beaten PrabhasBaahubali: The Conclusion in one major aspect!

As per a senior entertainment journalist, film critics and trade analyst, Sreedhar Pillai, Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi will be the first Indian film to touch 500 screens in North America. The number is so big, that it beats the the screens that SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 had scored – for all the various languages it released in. The Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Rana Daggubati film has got 462 screens in N. America. As per Pillai’s tweet, the film has some major Hollywood Theatre chains like Cinemark and AMCTheatres backing and screening it.

Agnyaathavaasi brings together an interesting ensemble cast comprising Boman Irani, Keerthy Suresh, Anu Emmanuel, Aadhi, Khushboo, Murali Sharma and Rao Ramesh. Now, it will be interesting to see how the film fares at the box office both in India and internationally on the opening day and weekend! Baahubali: The Conclusion has set huge benchmarks for all films to follow, and with more screens in at least one market, it will be an exciting comparison of numbers! Will Agnyaathavaasi start the year for Telugu cinema on a stupendous successful note? Let’s wait and watch!
