Parliamentary Standing Committee issues summon to Google & Facebook's representatives

It is now being reported that the Parliament Standing Committee has now summoned representatives from Google India and Facebook India. A meeting has been scheduled for June 29th and the representatives will be asked to put forth their opinions on how the platforms are ensuring the security of citizens. It is also being reported that Twitter India representatives have not been issued a summon to this meeting. The agenda has been set for the meeting and the focus is on safeguarding citizen's rights, particularly ensuring the safety of women using these platforms. Both Google India & Facebook India will be questioned over their policies of safeguarding the citizens' rights.
