A Parliament Standing Committee issued summon to Google India and Facebook India's representatives to appear before the panel on June 29. It is now being reported that the panel has asked Google and Facebook to comply with the new I-T rules and follow the rules of the country. The panel was chaired by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor. The Standing Committee of the Parliament raised concerns over safeguarding the rights of the citizens and ensuring their safety. The meeting lasted for about two hours and the representatives of Google and Facebook were asked to comply with the rules, which were introduced in February. Times Now's Mohit reports that the panel also made it clear to these social media giants that an ample amount of time has been given to comply with the new laws and the law of the land will be supreme.
