2 days after the Navy sailor was found in a burnt condition on a hillock at Vejalpada village in Palghar district, Times Now spoke to some of the villagers who were present when the police reached the spot. The villagers say Suraj Dube was conscious but badly burnt and asked them for water and also told them he had been kidnapped. The SP Palghar Dattatray Shinde on Sunday held a press conference stating they had details of 2 phones of the deceased and were looking for a third phone. They also said that he had invested in the stock market heavily but his accounts showed only a balance of 390 rupees. Suraj Dube had also borrowed 7 lakh from someone. The police had formed 10 teams to investigate the matter, however there was no clarity on who the accused were.
