Akshay Kumar is on a spree for spreading social messages and this time he has brought a movie that underlines a social issue that plagues half the population of the world – menstrual hygiene. Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte, and Sonam Kapoor starrer Padman’s trailer was released today and we must say it has excited us to such an extent that we can’t wait for the film to be released. Based on a true story of India’s real Padman Arunachalam Murugananthan, the movie is produced by Akshay Kumar’s wife, a former actress, and best-selling writer Twinkle Khanna. Twinkle Khanna also incorporated the story into her highly successful book The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad. The trailer of Padman was released on Twitter by Akshay Kumar and it soon gathered a lot of appreciation by the Twitterati. The Twitter users could not help but praise the trailer and the fact that the movie gives a social message along with entertainment. Twitter users have given a thumbs-up to the movie after watching its trailer.

Padman is directed by R Balki who had previously directed Cheeni Kum and Paa. Menstruation is a taboo even today in our society, so much so that girls absent themselves on the days of their menses from school. Women are thought to be ‘impure’ and forbidden from stepping into the kitchen, sleeping on the bed or taking part in religious ceremonies. However, this movie will probably try to bring more awareness about this natural process of women that is seen as a handicap and a torment. Twinkle Khanna Shares Childhood Treasures, a School Certificate, a Forgotten Picture With Sister Rinke and a Floppy disc with First Writings

India’s Superhero – Padman

Thankful to be Akshay Kumar’s fan

Super acting

Watch the trailer of Padman below:

Akshay Kumar has done a great job as in the movie, although based on a serious issue has its comic timing bang on. Akshay Kumar is his usual funny, charming and honest self. Sonam Kapoor seems to play a pivotal role in the film who probably gives the hero the motivation and support that he deserves. Radhika Apte looks the part of a housewife and a woman who has been brainwashed by society to follow the rules without thinking or questioning them. The movie is scheduled to be released on Republic Day, January 26, 2018. Don’t miss watching this, it is surely going to be a treat.
