Ahmedabad, Nov 18 (PTI) An overhead water tankcollapsed on Monday afternoon while it was being demolished byworkers in Gota locality of Ahmedabad in Gujarat, officialssaid.
Fortunately, nobody was injured in the mishap whichoccurred around 1:10 pm.
'The dilapidated water tank was being demolished whenit fell down suddenly. Nobody was injured in the incidentthough two nearby houses were damaged partially and the rubblepile blocked the access road,' said Additional Chief FireOfficer Rajesh Bhatt, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).
He said fire personnel armed with heavy machinery areclearing the debris that have blocked the access road to thehouses on priority.
'The tank, which was over 20 years old, belonged tothe Gujarat Housing Board which was carrying out the manualdemolition in a confined area,' he said.
In a similar incident on August 12 this year, threepeople had died and six others injured when an overhead watertank collapsed in city's Bopal area. PTI KA PD NSKNSK NSK
