India Today Online checked the two handles to find that the last tweet on @CMOfficeUP, the official Twitter handle of the Office of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, was from November 19, 2015. On the @UPGovt handle, it was September 7, 2014.

There has been no response from the Uttar Pradesh administration on the tweets that have suddenly disappeared from their timelines.

In the just-concluded Uttar Pradesh election, Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party in alliance with the Congress suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of the BJP, which has won a historic three-fourth majority in the state.
