In a move that quite frankly nobody asked for, Oreo has launched a hot chicken wing-flavoured variety of its now-famous stuffed cookie.

Earlier this week, parent company Mondelez International announced the launch via Twitter alongside an equally divisive Wasabi edition.

Yet despite describing the spicy options as “big and bold flavours”, social media users were unsurprisingly less than impressed.

On the American confectionary giant’s latest venture, one tweeted: “I can’t believe this is real. Make it stop.”

While another took to the social media platform to write, “This doesn’t just cross the line, it sprints right through it…”

But it’s not the first time Oreo has conquered unusual taste territory, as the biscuit brand has sold everything from ‘waffles and syrup’ additions to ‘caramel apple’-flavoured varieties over in the US.

Sadly, those of you secretly intrigued by the new launch will be disheartened to learn that the chicken wing and wasabi additions are currently only available in China.

But if you’re desperate to get your hands on the divisive Oreos, make sure to check out eBay where you can bag as many boxes of the savoury treat as you so wish.

Just don’t blame us if the hype isn’t worth the extortionate shipping costs…
