OnePlus 5T to be Launched Today: Price in India, Specifications, Availability And More
New Delhi, November 16: Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is all set to launch its much-touted smartphone OnePlus 5T today at an event in Brooklyn, New York City. The smartphone is believed to be the first all-screen smartphone from OnePlus and is expected to be an ‘all-screen’ successor of the OnePlus 5. The launch event will kick off on Thursday, November 16 at 11:00 a.m. ET which is 9.30 PM in India. After videos of the flagship phone were leaked during the last week, OnePlus lovers are eagerly waiting to get their hands on the device. If reports are to be believed, the long-rumoured OnePlus 5T will include new features like ‘bezel-less’ 18:9 aspect ratio display instead of a regular 16:9 and improved dual-cameras. The smartphone is believed to have its fingerprint scanner mounted at the back, unlike a front-seated one in OnePlus 5.
Talking about Camera, the OnePlus 5T will feature a primary 16-megapixel camera, supported by a 20-megapixel telephoto camera. It will feature a 3,300mAh battery powered by a proprietary Dash charging technology and will be available with 6GB and 8GB RAM options and internal storage options of 64GB and 128GB. The new flagship device by OnePlus is set to give a competition to devices launched by Apple and Samsung- the iPhone X and Galaxy Note 8, LG G6 etc.
The OnePlus 5T will be released in India on November 21 via a flash sale, while the wider availability will commence from November 28. On November 21, OnePlus 5T flash sale is scheduled to be at 4:30 PM in India. It has to be noted that the sale will be open to Amazon Prime members only. Other OnePlus lovers will have to wait until November 28 for the open sale via Amazon India, OnePlusStore.in, and OnePlus physical stores. If reports are to be believed, OnePlus 5T price would be the same as that of its predecessor. Reports state that in China, the 8GB RAM variant of OnePlus 5 is priced at CNY 3,499, while it costs $539 in the US and Rs. 37,999 in India.

As per reports by NDTV gadgets, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau hinted that the new OnePlus 5T will cost less than CNY 4,000 which is approximately Rs. 39,000. However, a week later, Lau said in a tweet, “Cost of smartphone components is rising, but phones are also getting better. OnePlus users will appreciate what’s coming.” This suggests the smartphone may be a little more expensive than previously thought.
OnePlus has almost doubled its market share in the premium smartphone segment (above $400, or roughly Rs 26,000) in India, capturing 28 percent market share, IANS reported. As per details by International Data Corporation’s (IDC) latest Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker 2017 Q3, OnePlus captured 12 percent share of the premium smartphone shipments in India during the first quarter and the share has more than doubled to 28 percent in just two quarters.
