Odisha reports 260 new COVID-19 cases, tally rises to 3,31,862

Bhubaneswar, Jan 10 (PTI) Odisha's COVID-19 caseload on Sunday mounted to 3,31,862 after 260 more people tested positive for the infection, a health department official said.

The state's coronavirus death toll remained at 1,891 as no new fatality due to the infection was reported since Saturday, he said.

The new cases were detected in 29 of the state's 30 districts, with 151 reported from different quarantine centres, while the remaining 109 are local contact cases.

Sundergarh district recorded the highest of 31 fresh cases followed by Cuttack (24) and Angul (21). No new positive case was detected from Nayagarh district since Saturday, he said.

Apart from 1,891 coronavirus fatalities reported so far, 53 other COVID-19 positive patients have also died due to comorbidities.

Currently, Odisha has 2,115 active COVID-19 cases while 3,27,803 patients have recovered from the highly infectious disease.

The state has so far conducted over 71.72 lakh sample tests for COVID-19, the official said. PTI AAM RG RG
