(Eds: Adding recoveries & updating) Bhubaneswar, Mar 27 (PTI) Odisha's COVID-19 tally mounted to 3,39,904 on Saturday as 210 more people tested positive for the infection, while one fresh fatality pushed the state's coronavirus death toll to 1,920, a health department official said.
The state during the day also registered recovery of 89 more patients taking the total number of cured persons to 3,36,571, which is 99.01 per cent of the caseload.
Odisha's case fatality ratio (CFR) stands at 0.56 per cent while its positivity rate is 3.8 per cent, he said.
The state reported over 200 fresh cases for the third consecutive day as it had reported 234 new cases on Friday and 214 on Thursday.
Of the 210 new cases registered in 21 of the 30 districts of the state, 124 were reported from quarantine centres, while 86 were detected during contact tracing.
Khurda district, under which Bhubaneswar falls, reported the highest number of new cases at 51, followed by Nuapada (23) and Cuttack (19).
The Health Department said that one patient succumbed to the infection in Sundergarh, taking the district's coronavirus death toll to 174.
Also, 53 coronavirus patients have died due to comorbidities so far.
Odisha now has 1,360 active COVID-19 cases, which is 0.40 per cent of the caseload.
Malkangiri district does not presently have any active COVID-19 case.
The state has so far tested over 89.49 lakh samples for COVID-19, including 28,828 on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Centre on Saturday assured that there would be no shortage of vaccines in the state.
'I would like to reassure you again that vaccine stocks will not be a limiting factor for acceleration of the pace of vaccination in Odisha and adequate quantities of vaccines will be provided to the state based on continuous review of available stocks and pace of vaccination,' Union Health secretary Rajesh Buhusan said in a letter to Odisha's Additional Chief Secretary, Health, P K Mohapatra.
