Odisha relaxes lockdown norms in in 10 coastal districts in wake of Cyclone Yaas

In wake of Cyclone Yaas, the Odisha government has decided to relax the lockdown norms. Daily shops to open from 7 am to 1 pm. Milk booths, shops selling vegetables, fish, meat, egg remain open on Monday and Tuesday at this timing. The Naveen Patnaik government had extended the ongoing lockdown in Odisha till June. The lockdown restrictions have been relaxed in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghour, Kendrapara, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Puri, Jajpur, Cuttack and Khordha. The order was passed to provide relief to the lakhs of people who are expected t be hit hard by the Cyclone Yaas, which is expected to make landfall on May 26 evening between Paradip in Odisha and Sagar islands in West Bengal after intensifying into a 'very severe cyclonic storm'.
