Odisha: Man burns mother alive over property dispute, arrested
A man who allegedly set his mother ablaze in Odisha's Malkangiri district was arrested on Saturday, ANI reported. The woman, who was 55, died.

The incident took place in a village under the Motu police limits. The man's mother, Gita Mandal, died from severe burns.
The police said the suspect, Tapas Manadal, 30, picked up a quarrel with his mother over a property issue.
Then Tapas beat her and burnt her alive, killing her, the police said.
Last year in Jharkhand, a woman was allegedly burnt alive in Dhanbad district following a case of dowry harassment.
In another similar incident, a couple was booked by the Rajasthan Police for setting ablaze their minor daughter to death following her affair with a boy of the same village in Phagi near Jaipur.
In 2017, another video had surfaced on social media that showed Shambhu Nath Raigar, the accused in Rajasamand 'Love Jihad' burning case, poured kerosene to burn the victim alive.
