Odisha logs 95 new COVID-19 cases, over 3.61 lakh frontline workers inoculated

Bhubaneswar, Feb 11 (PTI) Odisha's COVID-19 caseload on Thursday mounted to 3,35,984 after 95 more people tested positive for the infection, a health department official said.

The toll remained unchanged at 1,910 as no fresh fatality was reported since Monday.

Of the 95 cases, 56 were reported from various quarantine centres, and the rest detected during contact tracing, the official said.

Sundergarh reported the maximum number of fresh cases at 20, followed by Cuttack at 11 and Puri at nine.

Eleven of the state's 30 districts, including Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Kandhamal, and kendrapara, did not register any new case since Tuesday.

Malkangiri and Nayagarh continue to remain coronavirus-free with no active case left in the two districts, he said.

Odisha currently has 801 active cases -- 146 alone in Sundergarh -- while as many as 3,33,220 patients have recovered from the highly infectious disease.

Fifty-three COVID-19 patients died in the state due to comorbidities.

The positivity rate stands at 4.22 per cent.

Over 79.55 lakh sample tests have been conducted in the state, including 25,188 on Wednesday.
