Van Gaal urges patience over misfiring Di Maria

Manchester United must be patient with record signing Angel di Maria who has struggled to make an impact in his first season at the club, manager Louis van Gaal said on Tuesday. "Every player can have that kind of match -- Di Maria is not the only player who has suffered a bad day," Van Gaal told a news conference on Tuesday. "I have already explained that the higher rhythm of the Premier League is one of the most important aspects," Van Gaal added. "I think it counts for all the players …

Southampton can still make Champions League - Koeman

Southampton can still qualify for the Champions League but need to be more ruthless in front of goal to keep their European dream alive, manager Ronald Koeman said on Monday. After a 1-0 defeat by West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, Southampton have slipped to sixth in the Premier League table, four points behind fourth-placed Manchester United. Former Saints boss Alan Pardew brings his resurgent Crystal Palace to St Mary's on Tuesday and Koeman is targeting victory after mapping out his …

Di Maria will get back to his best at United - Rooney

Angel Di Maria is a great player and will rediscover his best form for Manchester United after enduring a difficult time of late, captain Wayne Rooney said. The 27-year-old Argentine has done little to justify the British record transfer fee of 59.7 million pounds ($92 million) United spent to recruit the flying winger from Real Madrid. Di Maria, who has scored three goals in 19 Premier League games this season, was taken off at halftime during United's 2-0 victory over Sunderland on Saturday …

Melbourne, Jan 29 (ANI): An email circulating on the Internet that shows a picture of the 'Obama bowl' featuring Barack Obama's face at the end of each lane with the pins as his teeth has been revealed to be a hoax.

According to the email, the bowling alley in Clearwater, Florida in the US is doing record business because everyone is lining up for the chance to knock the president's teeth out.

About 200 people have called Countryside Lanes bowling alley because of the photo, with all receiving the same answer - the photo is fake.

"We just tell them it's nothing serious, just some chain link email internet rumor going around," the Daily Telegraph quoted Countryside Lanes' co-owner Joseph May as saying.

"At first I thought it was a joke, one of my buddies prank calling me," he said.

General manager Tina May said she had to do a bit of research to understand the question from the callers.

"I ended up going on Facebook, and lo and behold, there was a picture of Obama Bowl," she said.

The Mays said they are not happy to be associated with the Obama hoax.

"My personal opinion is it's a very disrespectful thing. I didn't approve of it at all and that was basically what I told people, no we don't do that and I don't know many around here who would," said Tina May. (ANI)

After beef ban, Hindu groups force abattoirs to close

By Meenakshi Sharma MUMBAI (Reuters) - Members of a Hindu nationalist group have forced several abattoirs in Maharashtra to shut after a law was passed banning the beef trade there, a leader of the group and a lawyer for meat traders said on Wednesday. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad, or World Hindu Council, a nationalist group linked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ruling party, acted after winning a court order to stop the killing of bulls and bullocks.
