Amidst the ongoing spike in the COVID-19 cases, several states are now witnessing an acute shortage of medical oxygen due to the over-stressed hospitals and resources. After Delhi & Bengaluru, the Punjab government has now appealed to the Central government to provide an immediate supply of oxygen tankers to the state. The state currently has 15 oxygen tankers, which are not sufficient, given that Punjab is also witnessing a spike in the COVID-19 cases. A review meeting was held by Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh and during the review meeting, it was found that the state does not have enough oxygen supply. FOllowing this, Punjab CM appealed to the Centre to ramp up the supply in the state.
