Nushrat Bharucha took her own sweet little time before making it big in the Bollywood industry and we are glad for her efforts finally paid off. The actress who rose to fame with Kartik Aaryan's Pyaar ka Punchnama will be next seen with Ayushmann Khurrana in Dream Girl and an interesting tale from her struggling days has gotten us curious. A report in Bollywood Hungama states that the actress had auditioned for a role in Slumdog Millionaire but she wasn't shortlisted in the end. Reason? Well, you can blame her good looks for the same.
Nushrat revealed that she was keen to play Latika's role in Danny Boyle's directorial which later bagged an Oscar nomination. Though the makers were impressed with her acting skills and her audition tapes were brilliant, yet her good looks proved to be a hurdle in letting her live her big dream. The makers apparently thought that she was too good looking to play a girl from the slums. She even revealed how the entire team of the movie sat with her to describe why she doesn't fit the description of a girl living in the slums.
Eventually, Freida Pinto was chosen for the same role and rest, as they say, is history. Nushrat is currently busy with her promotions for Dream Girl post which she has Turram Khan with Rajkummar Rao and Hurdang with Sunny Kaushal.
