Nokia 6.2, Nokia 7.2 India launch tipped, may come in August with 48MP cameras
HMD Global has already refreshed the Nokia 2 and Nokia 3 series this year. It has also launched the Nokia 4.2, Nokia 1 Plus and Nokia 9 PureView. The next move by the company will likely be to refresh its mid-range phones, which means you can expect to see Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 7.1 successor before the year ends. In fact, if the latest reports are true, the Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2 could launch sometime in August or September.
NokiaPowerUser has been reporting on the Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2 for a while now, revealing details like their codenames (Daredevil for Nokia 6.2 and Star-Lord for Nokia 7.2) and that these devices have been certified in markets like India and Russia. This suggests that the launch of the Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2 is just around the corner with India being one of the first markets to receive the devices.
The report by NPU and Twitter account Nokia Anew both see an August launch timeline for the Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2. HMD may even hold an event to announce both the phones in India. The company has so far quietly launched the Nokia 2.2 (Review), Nokia 3.2, Nokia 4.2 and Nokia 9 PureView in India without a major event.
There is still plenty that we do not know about the Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2. What we do know from the latest report is that both the phones will come with 48MP camera. We believe that the Nokia 7.2 will be the global version of the Nokia X71, which was launched by the company in Taiwan in April. The Nokia X71 offers a punch-hole display, 48MP triple camera setup, Snapdragon 660 chipset and a 3,500mAh battery.
Separately, HMD Global recently launched the Nokia 9 PureView in India at Rs 49,999. The Nokia 9 PureView comes with a penta-camera system and is powered by a Snapdragon 845 chipset. It also supports wireless charging and in-display fingerprint sensor.
