No need for PM Modi to intervene in Belagavi border row: HD Kumaraswamy

Bengaluru, Mar 15(ANI): Amid ongoing Karnataka-Maharashtra tussle over Belagavi, Former chief minister of Karnataka and Janta Dal (Secular) leader, HD Kumaraswamy, said, “Regarding Belagavi issue Maharashtra people unnecessarily interfering about the boundary issue because it’s already that issue was over one year back. Frequently, again and again they are raising that issue. I don’t know actually what is necessary for them to bring this issue to the limelight.”“Several issues they are facing in Maharashtra even Corona issue has occurred second time. To look after all these things, it’s all their responsibility but unnecessarily they are taking this border issue again and again. It’s not going to help anybody by raising these issues. Why is it necessary for PM to get into this subject? The subject is over. Why prime minister has to interfere? Why our present state government minister unnecessarily bringing the prime minister’s name to interfere into the issue?” he added.Maharashtra government led by Shiv Sena recently made calls for the inclusion of Belagavi (Belgaum), a border town in Karnataka which has a significant population of Marathi-speaking people, into the western state.
