'No involvement in state machinery' says Mamata government to SC

Mamata Banerjee's government denied before the Supreme Court that state machinery has been unleashed against people having different political ideology and there is fear among people to join a particular political party or contest polls as an independent. This was the first response by the West Bengal government regarding the ongoing political murders row. These significant remarks ahead of the Assembly elections came in an affidavit in a case where an SC lawyer Shashank Shekhar Jha had sought a CBI /NIA probe into the mysterious death of a West Bengal BJP MLA Debendra Nath Ray, who was found hanging from a tree on July 13 calling it a 'political murder'.
