Everyone yearns for that one vacation from their busy schedules and mundane lives.

For some travelling is a way to discover themselves, some travel for work purposes, while for others it is just a way of life.

But Marilyn Hartman, a 66-year-old woman, took the "escape" part too literally.

On 14th January, Marilyn Hartman was observed on surveillance tapes at O'Hare Airport, passing through airport security, without a boarding pass or passport. Yep, you read that right.

Hartman boarded the British Airways flight to London, hiding in a bathroom until the plane took off and then found a seat. She was later detained by British Customs Officials at Heathrow International Airport in London on January 15th when she arrived, Chicago Police Department said in a news release.

How did she manage to pull off something like this? By hiding in plain sight, reported The New York Times.

"She hid her face with her hair and walked past the officers without presenting proper documentation to board a flight," Tandra R. Simonton, a spokeswoman for the Cook County State’s Attorney, was quoted as saying in the same report.

Hartman, who has a history of sneaking aboard planes, was denied entry into the UK and returned to Chicago's O'Hare International Airport on Jan 18th.

Hartman has been taken into custody and charged.

She Hartman has been convicted of misdemeanours for criminal trespassing at O’Hare four times in recent years, Ms Simonton said, but this is her first felony charge, The New York Times added.
