When Nitish Kumar met Sonia Gandhi: From Presidential election strategy to demonetisation, EVM were on discussion menu

According to highly placed sources, during the meeting, which lasted for an hour at 10 Janpath, Nitish Kumar discussed Presidential election strategy with Sonia Gandhi.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar met Congress president Sonia Gandhi to chart out Opposition's strategy in regard to Presidential election.

According to highly placed sources, during the meeting, which lasted for an hour at 10 Janpath, Nitish Kumar while discussing Presidential election strategy and it's candidate with Congress president said that she is the tallest leader as far Opposition camp is concerned.

JDU chief further added that as she is heading the principle Opposition party, so she should lead the Opposition camp and decide on the candidate while taking other parties into confidence. Sources added that Nitish has already approached NCP, few Left parties and is trying to build consensus on Presidential candidate.

"Nitish wants that Sonia Gandhi should also reach out to other parties to build consensus," sources said.

Nitish Kumar also discussed demonetisation as well as EVM issues and JDU's stand.

"On this Nitish Kumar told Sonia Gandhi that BJP always lays the trap and Opposition walks into it. Instead of reacting, Opposition should set their own agenda against the Modi govt," sources added.
