Newborn baby theft case: DCW sends notice to Delhi Medical Council, AIIMS

The Delhi Police was also sent a notice for failing to register an FIR in the case.

The Delhi Commission for Women has sent notice to AIIMS director and Delhi Medical Council asking for clarification in a case where a woman who gave birth to twins but was handed over only one baby by Safdarjung Hospital staff while the second was stolen. The Delhi Police was also sent a notice for failing to register an FIR in the case.

Delhi Police informed DCW that they have sent a report of the case to AIIMS and Delhi Medical Council asking for clarification. They have also requested AIIMS management to form an inquiry committee to look into the case.

Earlier, the Delhi Commission for Women had asked the Delhi Police to register an FIR against Safdarjung Hospital. But, the Delhi Police has not registered an FIR till date hence DCW has again sent a notice to the Delhi Police asking them to register an FIR.
