Never called in favour to bag movie or an award: Akshay on his National Award win controversy

Akshay Kumar's Best Actor win at the 64th National Awards was the talk of the town for both good and bad reasons. His win drew mixed reactions. After maintaining a stoic silence on this, the 'Airlift' actor has finally opened up on the controversy surrounding it. Mumbai Mirror, quoted the actor saying, "I have completed 25 years in the film industry and I've never called in a favour to bag a movie or an award." Sharing his happiness on getting the prestigious award, he said, "I'm very happy. I consider it the blessings of my parents and the good wishes of my family." For the unversed, Bollywood's Khiladi Akshay bagged his first National Award in the 'Best Actor' category for 'Rustom, while hijack drama 'Neerja' grabbed Best Hindi Feature film award.
