Punjab’s Ludhiana has suddenly come into the news, all thanks to this shop that sells every article for Rs 10. Neki Ki Dukan, as it is called, started operations in January and uses second-hand clothes, books and other articles received through donations.
Although customers can buy upto five articles at one go, they are barred from making any further purchase for the next 30 days. Before putting any article on their cart, customers must produce their Aadhar cards at the cash counter. The Unique ID’s printed on the card are then entered into a specially designed software, that forbids a purchase corresponding to the same number for the next 30 days.
The shop has been set up by Ek Noor Sewa Kendra, an NGO, and is managed by members of the organisation.
