What Rani Mukerji said on Rajeev Masand's Round Table interview is hardly unforgettable. Just to brief you up, when asked to comment on the #MeToo movement, Rani said, “I think as a woman you have to be that powerful within yourself, you have to believe that you're so powerful that if you ever come into a situation like that you have the courage to say 'back off.' I think you have to have the courage to be able to protect yourself,” adding, “you have to take responsibility of your own self.” Rani Mukerji Indirectly Blames Women for Sexual Assault Cases; Gets Trolled for Her Comments on #MeToo Movement – Watch Video.
Now, after getting bashed by several people on social media, now actress Neha Dhupia has SUPPORTED Rani Mukerji's stand on sexual harassment. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Neha Dhupia said, "That's extremely legitimate." "That breed of men [shouldn't] exist who actually want to exploit women. Women shouldn't be lead to the point of saying back off. That shouldn't exist in our culture or...society," said Neha. #MeToo Movement: I'm Concerned About Country's Anger, Says Sonu Nigam.
That is indeed shocking statement and we honestly didn't see it coming. Especially from someone who is as progressive as Neha. We mean, there are women who have the guts to actually go ahead and take action against their molesters and sexual harassers but there are also girls who don't have it in their nature to retaliate, like Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone said on the show. Anyway, what's said is said and nothing can be done about it unless people actually want to take some action on it. What do you think about Neha's response to Rani's statement?
