BJP led Central government has issued a third notice to the microblogging site Twitter and has asked the platform to ban 1178 accounts, which are suspected to be linked to Khalistani sympathizers or are backed by Pakistan. This after the Centre earlier demanded to block 257 Twitter handles. Amidst the ongoing farmers' agitation in India, the Central government is resorting to the strictest measures in order to tackle the situation. The microblogging site Twitter is yet to comply with the directions issued by the Central government. The government is also taking the aspect of Jack Dowsey retweeting some of Anti-India tweets into account.
