NBA betting: Picks against the spread for Tuesday night's playoff games

·2-min read

The second round of the NBA playoffs continues on Tuesday night with two games and Yahoo Sports’ Jared Quay has the picks you need for all of the action.

All odds via BetMGM.

Atlanta Hawks at Philadelphia 76ers (-5.5), Total: 223.5

The Hawks went into Philadelphia for Game 1, jumped on the 76ers early and held off a late charge in order to take a 1-0 series lead over the East’s top seed.

How will Philly respond in Game 2? The 76ers are five-point favorites at BetMGM with the over/under set at 222.5. Quay thinks the 76ers are primed for a bounce-back performance.

“In Game 1, the Hawks started the game 14-of-18 and were up by 20 at halftime. They only won by four. I think the second half of that game will show what this game will look like,” Quay said.

Quay is taking Philadelphia -5.5 points.

Prop we like: Seth Curry over 2.5 3-pointers (-105)

Los Angeles Clippers at Utah Jazz (-4), Total: 220.5

Fresh off a Game 7 victory over the Dallas Mavericks, the Clippers now head to Salt Lake City to face the Jazz, the West’s No. 1 seed. Utah is favored by four points with the total set at 220.5.

The Jazz beat Memphis in five games in the first round, so they have the rest advantage compared to the Clippers, who played on Sunday.

Despite the time off for the Jazz, Quay isn’t convinced they can cover four points against Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers. Instead, he is going with the under 220.5.

“[The total] feels a little high for me for Game 1. I want to feel this series out and see how it goes, so I’m leaning toward the under,” Quay said.

Prop we like: Jazz -1.5 in the first quarter (-110)
