Navin Pandey takes charge as director, T&FS at ONGC

Mumbai, Oct 29 (PTI): The national energy explorer ONGC Monday said Navin Chandra Pandey assumed the charge of the director of technical and field services (T&FS).

Pandey, a mechanical engineer from Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College, Allahabad, joined the oil and gas behemoth way back in 1982 and has a vast experience in the oil and gas industry.

He has held various key positions in both offshore and onshore portfolios, handling challenging assignments asset management, operations and services.

As operations manager of deep-water areas, he brought about significant performance improvements in deep-water drilling operations. He is credited with successful management of floater drilling rigs Sagar Bhushan & Sagar Vijay.

As an asset manager at CBM Asset at Bokaro, he has made a turnaround in the operations by fast-tracking development activities in major CBM blocks including land acquisition and synergizing resource mobilization. ************* Ahmedabad airport gets Plaza Premium Lounge

Ahmedabad: Hong-Kong based Plaza Premium Group has launched its new lounge at the international airport here.

Founder-CEO Song Hoi-see Monday said the company has earmarked USD 100 million to expand in India along with China and the US.

The company first started its lounge at Hyderabad airport in 2007, and has expanded to airports in Delhi and Bengaluru. The lounge at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel international airport is the 15th facility in the country. The lounge at Ahmedabad is spread over an area of 2,131 sqft, with seating arrangement for up to 65 guests among a host of other services. ************* Solar Industries net jumps 14% to Rs 52 cr

Mumbai: Industrial explosives manufacturer Solar Industries India Friday reported a 14 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 52 crore for the quarter to September.

Total sales increased 28 per cent to Rs 521 crore, the company said, adding its defence business recorded sales of Rs 44 crore compared to Rs 8 crore. The defence order book stood at Rs 471 crore as against Rs 246 crore during the previous quarter.
