ND Tiwari Shifted to ICU After His Condition Becomes Critical, Next 72 Hours ‘Crucial’ For Him
New Delhi, Nov 19: Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Narayan Dutt Tiwari on Saturday became unresponsive and was shifted to the ICU at a private hospital in Delhi. The 92-year-old politician who was admitted to the hospital on September 20 after suffering a brain stroke, became unresponsive while being given physiotherapy at the hospital.
ND Tiwari’s son, Rohit Shekhar Tiwari alerted the doctor’s about his father’s condition. “At 4 pm, Tiwariji became unresponsive while being given physiotherapy,” an aide was quoted as saying in a The Press Trust of India report.
Tiwari was then shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Doctors carried out several tests on ND Tiwari and the reports of the same will be available by Sunday.
After being hospitalised on September 20, ND Tiwari was in the ICU of Max Super Speciality Hospital till October 12. He was moved to a private room when his health improved but, was shifted back to the ICU on October 26. Around a week later, when his health improved, he was again moved to a private room. Tiwari’s health deteriorated on November 5 and has been on life support since. “Earlier this month, he was again moved to the ICU after fall in his blood pressure and was put on life support but was later shifted to a room on November 15,” the aide said.
Meanwhile, social media was flooded with posts claiming the death of ND Tiwari. People even started sharing condolence messages for the nonagenarian leader.
ND Tiwari, who also served as Union Minister in successive Congress governments, as Uttarakhand Chief Minister and Andhra Pradesh Governor, is under the treatment of senior neurosurgeon JD Mukherjee and senior cardiologist Sumit Sethi.
