Mumbai, November 17: A group of thieves robbed a Bank of Baroda of Rs 3 crore over the weekend in Navi Mumbai. As per the CCTV footage of November 12 (Sunday), the thieves were seen coming out of the bank with sacks.

The incident came to light when a customer and a bank officer entered found that 27 lockers had been broken into. The two also spotted a tunnel in the room, which led to the adjacent shop, the Hindustan Times reported.

“The culprits made a tunnel from the adjacent gaala [shop] and entered the locker room. They stole cash and jewellery, and made their escape through the tunnel,” a police officer from Sanpada police station had said, on condition of anonymity.

The police had said that the stolen goods were mainly gold jewellery.
