Mumbai reports 841 COVID-19 cases, 1,929 recoveries; 25 die

Mumbai, Nov 5 (PTI) Mumbai reported 841 new cases, taking its COVID-19 tally to 2,61,684 on Thursday, while more than 1,900 patients recovered from the infection, the city civic body said.

According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) updated data, the death toll in the city reached 10,374 with 25 fresh fatalities.

This was the sixth consecutive day when the financial capital has reported less than 1,000 COVID-19 cases. On Wednesday, 983 new cases and 29 deaths were recorded in the city.

According to the BMC data, the number of recovered COVID-19 patients rose to 2,35,207 with 1,929 more people discharged from hospitals.

Presently, the city has 90 per cent rate of recovery of COVID-19 cases.

Mumbai has 15,466 active COVID-19 cases.

The number of COVID-19 tests conducted in the city so far stood at 15.81 lakh.

According to the civic body, the city's average doubling rate of COVID-19 cases is 199 days, while the average growth rate is 0.35 per cent.

At present, the city has 6,425 sealed buildings and 545 containment zones in slums and chawls (old style tenements).

The civic body declares a containment zone and seal buildings on finding at least one or more COVID-19 cases there. PTI KK RSY RSY
