In a completely new modus operandi, Mumbai city drug peddlers are now using girls for drug peddling .
In a shocking revelation, it has been found out that the peddlers first get the girls used to taking drugs. After which, they make them sell drugs in return for drugs.
The Anti Narcotics Cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch recently arrested a 28-year-old woman in a similar modus operandi. The woman has been identified as Shahnaz Mirza.
The ANC was working on a tip off according to which, a woman was going to arrive with drugs near the Dongri area.
A trap was laid and Mirza was nabbed. 215 grams of MD drugs worth Rs 4.30 lakh was recovered by the cops.
Mirza told cops that she was in this business for the last three months. She got married to a businessman in Dongri but her husband later got married to another woman. So, she divorced him and came back to her father who is into a flower business. It was here when she met a person who started giving her pan masala. But the pan masala had MD drugs. Slowly Mirza got addicted to the drugs and was always desperate for the same.
The drug peddler told her that if she wants drugs than she will have to deliver drugs. So, she started delivering drugs to given addresses by the suppliers.
The ANC officials said that this is a completely new modus operandi. Earlier, males delivered drugs.
The officials said that this is a new way where peddlers such girls in the local area are identified before putting them on drugs.
The peddlers sometimes randomly target girls who are going through a cash crunch. The peddlers befriend such women and later offer them drugs. Once they get addicted, the girls are used for drug delivery.
The woman arrested is currently in police custody where the cops are trying to find the real drug peddler who forced the woman into the business.
