Mumbai faces vaccine shortage; BKC centre remains shut among others

India is now reporting an unprecedented surge in the number of COVID-19 cases across the country, with the daily count crossing the 3L mark. While the Centre is gearing up for the third phase of the vaccination drive with vaccination for all, Maharashtra's BMC has announced that there are currently no jabs available in the BKC centre. Only 75 vaccination centres are opened in Mumbai. The BMC officials have also added that the BKC centre will only be opened, once the stock of vaccines is replenished in the centre. Apart from the BKC Centre, 13-15 hospitals have also informed the Mumbai Civic body about the shortage of vaccine jabs.
