Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani Express Halted For 2.5 Hours at Bayana Due to Power Failure After Hitting Animal
New Delhi, Oct 23: The Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani Express was on Monday halted for 2.5 hours at Bayana Junction. Reports say that the train number 12951 was halted due to power failure after the it hit an animal in Bayana.
The Mumbai-NDLS Rajdhani Express begins its journey from Mumbai at 5 pm and reaches the national capital next day at 8:35 am.
Earlier on October 16, a third Rajdhani Express was launched between Delhi and Mumbai, which takes less than 14 hours and also costs less than the original Rajdhani. On its opening run, the new Rajdhani took off for Bandra Terminus in Mumbai from Hazrat Nizamuddin station in Delhi on October 16.
“The train arrived at Bandra Terminus at 6:57 AM instead of its scheduled arrival time of 6:10 AM. We received the train late at Surat itself. It arrived at 3:34 AM instead of 2:25 AM. However, the loco pilot tried to make up for the lost time but factors like fog hindered the effort,” a Western Railway official told Times of India.
