Mumbai COVID crisis: Positivity rate declines; 85% cases asymptomatic

As India's financial capital, Mumbai has been facing Covid-19 cases in huge number since the last few weeks, now the Covid-19 test positivity rate in the city has dropped to 9.94 per cent on April 29. The test positivity rate (TPR) is defined as the proportion of samples that return positive among the total tested. Also, 85 per cent of the new Covid-19 cases are asymptomatic. On April 4, the positivity rate was 27.94 per cent, the highest during the whole month. With the huge plunge in test positivity rate, the city has also seen a decline in testing rate. A few days back it was around 30,000 and today it has increased to around 44.000.
