Mucormycosis cases on a rise; Doctors report a shortage of drug Amphotericin B for treatment

Amid the alarming fear of the black fungal infections in the post-Covid recovery stage, there have been reports of drug shortage. In a recent report by the ICMR, there have been cases of White Fungus, too that have now been on a rise. Several hospitals have reported an acute shortage, as the cases are now increasing rapidly. The drug Amphotericin B that is required to treat the patients has been witnessing a supply shortage from the center’s side.
