New York City’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) took aim at a wedding party that posed for photographs in the middle of Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue after footage of the event surfaced on social media on August 9.
The video, filmed by Aminat Dotdaeva, shows the couple and more than a dozen others lined up across the thoroughfare while photographers take shots of them. Traffic, including an ambulance and a bus, can be seen backing up behind the party.
The MTA’s official Twitter account retweeted the footage and asked, “Are you a bus?”
“Congratulations and we wish you all the best, but please stay out of the bus lane,” the transport authority wrote.
Dotdaeva urged people not to “get mad” in her original TikTok post, writing that an “ambulance was there and they congratulated them.”
“Police was there. No harm done,” she wrote. Credit: Aminat Dotdaeva via Storyful
