Bhopal, Jul 1 (PTI) Amid the lockdown, the Madhya Pradesh Tiger Foundation Society has taken the initiative to provide ration and other essential items to forest guides and drivers working in remote forest areas, a government official said on Wednesday.
These guides and drivers are generally dependent on tourism for their livelihood, but due to the suspension of tourism activities in the state, they have no source of income, a public relations department official said.
While working in remote areas, they normally keep one-week ration with them in the patrolling camps.
The Madhya Pradesh Tiger Foundation Society, a non- profit organisation founded by the state government for wildlife conservation, collected Rs 71 lakh through donations to provide them ration and other essential items and also helped them in getting temporary jobs, the official said. PTI MAS GK GK
