Ujjain (MP), Jul 31 (PTI) A land record official was held on Friday for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 in Pipaliya-Limba village in Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, Lokayukta police said.
Patwari Dushyant Verma (25) asked a bribe from farmer Bhupendra Chaudhary for updating the latter's land record book provided by the state state revenue department, said Lokayukta Inspector Rajendra Verma.
'Choudhary lodged a complaint after which we laid a trap and nabbed Verma red-handed. He was held under Prevention of Corruption Act and later released on bail,' the official added. PTI COR LAL BNM BNM
