Gully Boy may have been the aam janta and politicians’ favourite alike, but here’s something that is equally rated ‘Bohot Hard’ even by the OG Ranveer Singh himself.
This is Lata Khanchandani, a well-known hairstylist in Mumbai, who got so inspired after watching Ranveer Singh in Gully Boy that she began rapping herself.
She’s also tweaked the lyrics of the song to include her commentary on society. “Kaisa yeh zamana hai, aadmi deewana hai (what is this era, people are crazy),” and also “System hi kharab ha. (the system is bad)”
With over 3 million views on Instagram alone in two days, her video has gone viral and appreciated by over 7 lac users, including the Gully Boy director, Zoya Akhtar herself.
While Zoya brought out some of her French vocabulary to applaud the desi aunty, singer Monali Thakur called the video, cute.
Meanwhile, another celebrity hairstylist, Adhuna called lata aunty “amazeballs”.
These Gif reactions also capture the feels of this song aptly!
A salut to this gangster nani!
