Moto G7 to launch in India soon: Expected price, features and all you need to know
Motorola launched its 2019 range of Moto G series phones in Brazil last month. The company announced four models under the Moto G7 moniker, of which the Moto G7 Power made it to India a few weeks ago. The Moto G7 Power launched at a price of Rs 13,999 and offered a big 5000mAh battery. However, Motorola is set to launch the other G7 models in India and the next model being prepped up for launch is the Moto G7. The company has already started teasing the model and is expected to make it official very soon.
Motorola is currently promoting the G7 with regards to its design and software features. The Moto G7 carries forward the same glass-metal construction from the Moto G6 from last year. There's a 3D curved glass body with a dual camera setup situated at the back. The company is also flaunting the new waterdrop notched display up front. Since Motorola phones run on a fairly clean version of Android, the company will be offering Google Lens on the phone as well.
Moto G7 specifications
The Moto G7 is a successor to the Moto G6 and is meant to cater to consumers seeking for a midrange smartphone under Rs 20,000. The Moto G7 is built around a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 chipset. It comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. In typical Motorola fashion, the G7 runs on an almost stock version of Android 9 Pie and will come with Motorola's custom enhancements such as Moto gestures and shortcuts.
The G7 sports a 6.2-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a waterdrop notch on the top. When it comes to the camera, the G7 Plus gets 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera system but loses out on the Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) from the G7 Plus. For selfies, there's an 8-megapixel camera at the front. The G7 is kept alive by a 3000mAh battery and is expected to offer a full day's stamina.
Moto G7 expected price in India
Considering the aggressive pricing for the Moto G7 Power launched a few weeks ago, we expect the standard Moto G7 to come in India between Rs 15,000 - Rs 17,000. At this price, the G7 has a lot of competition from other established brands.
The Redmi Note 7 Pro even at Rs 16,999 offers better value when compared to the Moto G7. The Note 7 Pro has a superior Snapdragon 675 chipset and a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary rear camera. Samsung's new Galaxy A30 and galaxy M30 are also strong competitors to the Moto G7. The Nokia 6.1 Plus at Rs 14,999 also offers an Android One experience with a slightly more powerful chipset.
